The chambered nautilus grows in a logarithmic spiral whose expansion factor approximates Φ. Each chamber is approximately Φ times larger than the previous one, creating a self-similar spiral that has become the iconic symbol of the golden ratio in nature.

Sunflower seed heads exhibit Fibonacci spirals — 34 in one direction and 55 in the other (consecutive Fibonacci numbers whose ratio approaches Φ). This pattern maximizes seed packing efficiency.

The human body exhibits golden ratio proportions: - The ratio of forearm to hand length ≈ Φ - The ratio of total height to navel height ≈ Φ - Finger joint proportions follow Fibonacci ratios

Fibonacci Sequence

The Fibonacci sequence (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89...) converges to the golden ratio: the ratio of consecutive terms approaches Φ as the sequence progresses.
